Super Falcons celebrating their victory over Zimbabwe on Saturday
Zimbabwe's Mighty Warriors' midfielder, Ruvimbo Mutyavaviri, has singled out Super Falcons' defensive midfielder, Onyinyechi Ohadugha for her outstanding performance in Saturday’s African Women Championship qualifying game against Nigeria.
Ohadugha played 90 minutes in Nigeria’s 4-0 defeat of the southern African nation in the final fixture of the 2012 AWC decided at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Mutyavaviri was pulled out in the second term of the encounter for Sheila Makoto and she did not hesitate to point out that Ohadugha stole her heart with her unique style of play.
"Yes, the No 8 shirt (Onyinyechi Ohadugha), she really played good game. She impressed me," she told SuperSport.com after the game.
The Zimbabwean admitted to the superiority of the reigning African champions.
"Yes, they outclassed us, they played better than us. We're proud to lose to the African champions.
"First half we tried to play them but we were scared and in the second half it was too late to come back into the game.
"It's unfortunate we lost massively, we intended to play according to the coach instruction but luck left us," she said.
On her message to their conquerors, Mutyavaviri says best of luck at AWC in Equatorial Guinea.
