Enugu Rangers have said they are studying a quotation of 12 million Naira (about $75,000) for Sunday Ma, the Super Eagles’ match winner in the final of the 2013 African Cup of Nations held in South Africa earlier this year.

The Nigeria Football Federation had given both clubs till Thursday to decide on the transfer fee of the player and resolve the issues surrounding his return to club football.

"Warri Wolves have demanded for a 12 million Naira transfer fee. We would look at their request and let them know what we can offer, then when we agree we get back to the NFF," said Foster Chime, the spokesperson of Rangers.

“Wolves asking price is reasonable because we all know he would go for far more to a club in Europe in the summer and so Rangers could make a huge profit from this transaction,” a top official of the Warri club informed
Several European clubs including Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga have indicated interest in the 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who shone at last month’s Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Mba will set a new transfer record in the Nigeria domestic league if he eventually goes to Rangers for a double figure. The NFF have ruled that Mba belongs to Warri Wolves, who will now have to agree a transfer fee for the player as he has insisted he does not wish to continue to play for them.

Izu Azuka is believed to have commanded the biggest transfer fee in the domestic league thus far when he joined Sunshine Stars as a free agent two seasons ago for about nine million Naira.
