Nigeria striker, John Utaka
Nigeria striker, John Utaka whose goals contributed in no small measure to Montpellier’s first French league title last season will hope his club go past the group stage as they will campaign in Group A alongside Schalke 04, who parade fellow Nigerian striker, Chinedu Ogbuke, Arsenal and Olympiacos.
“It’s a good draw. You know that there are no under dogs in the Champions league. Like I will always maintain, we will go out there and give our best. We are all looking to begin our campaign then see how it goes.”
Montpellier begin their campaign at home against Arsenal in a game that would mark the return of striker Olivier Giroud to his former club.
Meanwhile, Nigerian defender, Elderson Echiejile will be in action with Portuguese club Sporting Braga in only their second appearance in the group stage of the Champions League.
Braga will play in a group that has Manchester United, Galatasaray and CFR Cluj.
