Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has assured President Goodluck Jonathan of the support from the South-south states for the transformation agenda of his administration.

Uduaghan, who gave the assurance at the weekend, when the state government hosted the National Good Governance Tour Team to a dinner party in Asaba, said the success of the Jonathan’s administration was the success of the South-south states.

He noted that Delta State was solidly behind the President and would do its best to support the policies and programmes of the administration as well as contribute its quota in the transformation agenda of the administration.

He said: “Please Hon. Minister assure the President that he has a strong support from Delta State.  The South-south states are also solidly behind him, we are giving him all the support we can and by the grace of God he will succeed.”

While soliciting the co-operation of Nigerians for the programme, Uduaghan commended the Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, and members of the team for their efforts in ensuring its success.

In his remarks, Maku expressed appreciation to the governor for the development taking place in the state and for the warm reception accorded them since their arrival.

He noted that the state was moving forward because of the developmental projects and thanked the governor for the political maturity demonstrated as a leader in ensuring that Deltans enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Maku said the President, who was an indigene of the South-south region was focused on moving the nation forward, and commended the South-south States for their support to the Jonathan’s administration.

“This is a time you are making history for having one of your own as the President and you are making great impact in the transformation of Nigeria,” he said.

The minister commended Uduaghan for identifying talents in the state and developing such talents, saying: “Delta State is a state of talented people.”

He also commended the State Executive Council (SEC) for the contributions made to ensure that the tour was a success.
