The Kano incident happened around 1:10 pm at a security check point along Hadejia road, during ‘a stop and search’ on a commercial vehicle at the check point.

According to source who spoke under the condition of anonymity, “It was in the process of checking that one of the passengers of the vehicle opened fire on the security operatives at the checking point. Security operatives at the checkpoint responded by killing the attacker instantly.’’

An eyewitness also said another passenger in the vehicle brought out a knife and tried to attack the solders but he was arrested.

Spokesman of the JTF, Capt. Ikedichi Iweha, confirmed the incident and the killing of the two suspected gunmen.

In Gombe, the gunmen attacked the Bagadaza area around 4 pm and killed the card players while a policeman attached to the Government House, Gombe was injured. The gunmen escaped immediately on their motorbike after the attack.
