Actor, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes getting a divorce. The couple are splitting after five years of marriage.

Cruise 49, who starred in the recent ‘Rock of Ages’, married Holmes, 33 in November 2006 and their daughter, Suri, is six-years-old,  reports Yahoo UK Movies News.

Holmes’s attorney Jonathan Wolfe said:  “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family.

"Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

A spokesman for Cruise told People: "Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy."

The couple were last seen in public together in February. She was not at the 'Rock of Ages' premiere.

Tom Cruise was previously married to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, with whom he has two children.

He is currently shooting sci-fi film 'Oblivion'.
