Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva
Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has admitted he would be open to a move to Barcelona if the Catalans came knocking again.
Barca was reportedly interested in signing the Brazilian last year before he eventually left AC Milan for PSG instead last summer, reports futaa.com.
After putting in a commanding display in the UCL quarter-final first leg against Barcelona that ended 2-2 last week, the 28-year old defender has again been linked with a move to Camp Nou with the player himself confirming his desire for a switch.
“You can never close the door on something, because you don't know what will happen in the future. I am happy now, but you never know what will happen in the future.
“There were conversations between Barcelona and my agent last year, but I had already given my word to PSG director Leonardo. There's no way back once you've given your word.
“Everybody has dreams. I have been following Barcelona ever since I was a kid and they had players like Romario, Ronaldo and Rivaldo,” Silva said as quoted on soccerway.com.
Thiago believes that despite having a buy-out clause in his contract with solutions can always be proffered if the need arises.
“Do I have a buy-out clause? I only just got here and I'm not thinking about that. But we all know that a solution can always be found,” he added.
The Brazil international who is in his first season with the French giants has a contract with PSG until the end of the 2016/17 season.
