The family of Special Adviser to the Presidency and Research and Documentations, Mr. Oronto Dauglas yesterday described the death of Governor Patrick Yokowa of Kaduna and the  former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Azazi and their aides as sad and unfortunate.

In a statement issued and signed on behalf of the family by Samuel Romeo Douglas, the family said, though some events of life are beyond human comprehension and cannot be logically explained, it was taking comfort in the fact that the Almighty God understood why He allowed what happened. The family stated that even though it was devastated, it cannot question God on why He allowed the tragedy to happen.

“On behalf of the family of late Pa Tamunoobebara Douglas, we express our heart-felt sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives in the Navy Augusta helicopter crash.

“We are particularly saddened by this cruel twist of fate. At a time we were celebrating the life of our father, who lived to a very ripe age of 88, it is very disheartening that those who, out of sheer love and care, came to celebrate with us met their tragic deaths after attending the event.

“Although some events of life are beyond human comprehension and cannot be logically explained, we take comfort in the fact that the Almighty God understands why He has allowed this happen.

On behalf of the Okoroba Council of Chiefs and the people of the Okoroba kingdom, we commiserate with the families of former Governor of Kaduna State, Mr. Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa; former National Security Adviser, Gen. Andrew Owoye Azazi; Yakowa’s aide, Dauda Tsoho; Azazi’s aide, Mohammed Kamal; and the two pilots, Commander Murtala Mohammed Daba and Lt. Adeyemi O. Sowole, who all lost their lives in the Navy Helicopter crash.”
