In its effort to deliver quality and hygienically prepared food for its numerous customers, premium Quick Service Restaurant, Tastee Fried Chicken (TFC), has opened a new outlet in Ikoyi, Lagos State. The new outlet on Awolowo Road is a simple relocation from its former base at the Oando filling station on the same street.

In his speech at the formal inauguration ceremony, Executive Director of TFC, Mr. Olubunmi Adedayo, revealed that the new outlet promises to be the best in quality fast food service with variety of sumptuous meals, and said the entry of TFC into catering business in 1989, brought a revolution into the industry.

“Tastee Fried Chicken remains a household brand that is not elitist in operation; we cater for everybody. We try to give the best food in the best environment to all class. That is why we have product as cheap as N50 and N100. The only thing we believe is that even if you are going to enjoy a fantastic meal in a nice environment, you don’t need to pay huge amount for that,” he said.

He noted that the foresight of the owners, coupled with the hard work and support of loyal staff members, has helped it grow and etch its mark not only in the outdoor catering business but also in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) category.

“The success of the brand can be verified with various recognition from different bodies amongst them is the West African Tourism and Hospitality Awards that the company won in the Platinum category in 2010 and 2011,” he said.

Meanwhile, Adedayo appealed to the Federal Government to look into the challenges faced by those struggling to operate legally and ethically in the business environment, saying the cost of doing business in Nigeria was unimaginably high.
This, he described as an unfortunate situation that had forced many companies to fold up due to their inability to meet fiscal responsibilities in the face of various challenges.

“The issue of security is also very important because no business can survive in an insecure environment. We advise our government to explore the possibility of further aids to our security agencies and also develop more youth empowerment programmes, which will help reduce the tendencies for resorting to crime by the young people,” he stated.

He added that the Apapa outlet, which was recently established as a result of the high demand, has been a huge success to the brand chains of business. “You know Apapa is a very significant area in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. It’s a port city, and a lot of commercial activities take place there. Since we opened there, the reception has been encouraging. We are making progress in Apapa obviously,” Adedayo noted.
