Taraba State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Sani Abubakar

Taraba State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Sani Abubakar has been impeached by the state House of Assembly.

Alhaji Sani Abubakar was impeached following the adoption of the report of the committee set up to investigate allegations of misconduct levelled against him.

Twenty members, representing over two thirds of the 24 member House of Assembly voted in favour of the impeachment.

However, three members, Hon. Joseph Albasu Kunini, Hon. Aminu Umar and Hon. A. Juguilde from Lau, Jalingo and Gembu constituencies, were, however, absent from the emergency sitting.

The impeached deputy governor was found guilty of all three allegations levelled against him.
