Tambuwal: We Abandon Electorate after Elections

It was a moment of self appraisal of performances of elected government officials, when the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal accused elected government officials of playing gods and abandoning the electorate after elections.

He spoke when the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Rev Father Mathew Kukah, Niger Delta activist, Ann Kio Briggs human right lawyer, Femi Falana lamented the decay in governance in Nigeria.

According to Tambawal, who was a special guest of honour at the 10th Daily Trust Dialogue, said: “This fact is common knowledge. But since we are talking about the reality of nation building, we must agree that more often than not we leaders behave as if the people owed us rather than the other way round..."
