The Governor of Benue state Gabriel Suswam has appealed conflicting Fulani herds-men and Tiv farmers in the state to embrace dialogue.
The governor said this in Abuja at a peace building meeting amongst stakeholder's, organised by Women Environmental Programme (WEP).
Sesame who was represented by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Internal Affairs Hinga Biem said that the state would continue to welcome herds-men in the state, irrespective of the incessant clashes between Fulani Pastoralists and Tiv Farmers.
The governor who admitted that crisis between two groups had taken a strange dimension, stated that only dialogue would bring lasting peace between the conflicts groups. "Herds-men would still be welcomed in Benue," he said.
