Two of the three aides of Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai, who were flown from the National Hospital, Abuja, to meet their principal in Germany a few weeks ago returned to the country yesterday.
The two - his Chief Detail, Joel Danladi, and Chief Security Officer (CSO), Tino Dangana, - came back around 4.40 p.m. aboard a Lufthansa aircraft.
The third, Suntai’s Aide De Camp (ADC), Dasat Iliya, injured with his colleagues when the aircraft being flown by the governor crashed on a flight from Jalingo to Yola, will return next week, according to the state Director of Medical Services, Dr. Ahmed Kara.
The state Chief Liaison Officer in charge of Abuja office, Godfrey Tafida, led Kara and the rest of the small delegation that received the two returnees.
Kara, who is also the personal physician to Suntai, explained that the acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar, was to lead the delegation that welcomed the injured aides back but could not make it as he was called for a meeting at the presidency.
The CSO, using crutches, stopped photo-journalists from capturing him and the rest on camera.
One of the photo-journalists who had taken a shot of them was forced to delete it.
The returnees also declined interviews with reporters.
Kara explained that Dangana’s use of crutches was to take the pressure off his fractured ankle which should heal completely in a short while, adding that the duo were heading home as they had no need for additional treatment here.
Both returnees were driven off in a black Land Prado marked. CZ 724 RBC around 5.10pm in a convoy of four cars.
