Sokoto Recruits 70 Teachers

Sokoto State Governor, Aliyu Wamakko, has approved the recruitment of 70 teachers in the state.
The Permanent Secretary of the state Civil Service Commission, Hajiya Aisha Umar Hassan, who disclosed this in a chat with reporters, said the teachers would be recruited under the state Ministry of Science and Technical Education.

According to her, only those with National Certificate in Education (NCE) and bachelor’s degree in some specific courses would be eligible for the exercise.

Hassan said the required courses are English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Studies and degree in Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling.

She said short listed candidates would attend an interview on September 13, 2012, adding that the recruitment exercise was meant to address the shortage of teachers in specific subjects.
