Sogenal Oil and Gas Limited

Sogenal Oil and Gas Limited, an independent Nigerian company and operator of the Akepo field in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 90, has appointed a Chief Operating Officer (COO). He is Mr. Leye Amos Adetoba, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) and member of Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN).

Before his new appointment, Adetoba retired from Chevron Nigeria Limited after 35 years of meritorious service in various managerial positions with the International Oil Company (IOC). He obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1976 from University of Ibadan with Second Class Honours Upper Division.

To sharpen his managerial skills, Adetoba also obtained Masters in Managerial Psychology in 1999. He joined Gulf Oil Company, Lagos that later became Chevron Nigeria Limited in 1977 as a Petroleum Engineer.

He worked in various capacities with increasing responsibilities before retiring as the Coordinator of Non-Operated Joint Ventures including marginal fields in February 2012, before he joined Sogenal in April 2012. During his working career he worked in many locations in Nigeria, United Kingdom and United States.

Adetoba has immense knowledge in various aspects of Petroleum Engineering such Drilling, Production, Reservoir Management, Operations and Non-Operated Joint Venture Management. Before he joined Sogenal, he had written and presented many papers in and outside the country in many professional conferences and is also a member of many religious and social clubs.
