“Love Me Jeje” crooner Seyi Sodimu revealed that he is currently shooting a video for his “Gbedu” track in the US. The song follows a 2008 collaboration with Wayne Wonder titled “Always on My Mind”, and symbolises the top-notch swing Sodimu is rolling out via his Afro Soul genre.
“Because Nigerian music and African music as a whole has exploded in the last couple of years, it is important to set your individual music apart from the congested music industry,” Sodimu said while explaining his recent track. “Also being an international artiste I have to project my style roots and culture, and be true to my unique style.”
The song forms part of his fourth album that should drop soon. With the success of previous albums; Born in Afrika, State of Mind and Set me Free, which was not released at home, the UK-based singer, who has had several close calls with men of the underworld, is undaunted in his push for churning out indigenous sounds. Already, it has engendered a US promo show and fans will not miss out, the singer assures.
