Seun Kuti, the scion of the scion of the late Afro-beat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, holds his very first concert in Ikorodu town on Saturday from 5 pm. The crowd-pulling musical act would be performing at the official launch of a recently-opened leisure and recreational centre, called Kunbi’s Place and Leisure Park.
Already, the Ikorodu residents are looking forward to Seun’s high-octane performance with his Egypt 80. The modestly-priced concert tickets –N1,000 for individuals, N1,500 for couples and the N10,000 for VIP couples including food and drinks – are expected to draw the young musical act’s fans to the venue.
Located somewhere along Lagos Road in Ikorodu town – opposite at a bus stop called, Jumofak between Aruna and Agric bus stops, precisely – it offers a cocktail of fitness-related activities for families and friends.
“We are a place for schools, families, corporate bodies and individuals to come to meet, play, have fun and relax,” according to a statement signed by its managing director/ chief executive officer, Morounkunbi Osinoiki . “After school hours and during school holidays, we also provide fun, supervised learning and development programmes for children, as well as exciting-themed parties and outings.
“Our facilities include spacious, age-appropriate playgrounds for children, a five-a-side football pitch, an outdoor fitness gym for adults, a café, bar and grill, a beauty and pamper suite for ladies and much more!”
Because of its strategic location, Kunbi’s Place is expected to be a choice venue for weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, business meetings, team and much more. It also offers on-site parking.
“Our gate fee is very reasonable, starting from just N250.00 per person during off peak hours, and N500.00 per person during peak hours,” continues the press statement. “Special event tickets start from just N1,000 per person. We also offer membership options for families, individuals, schools and corporate groups which allow unlimited visits over a specified period. Memberships are available on monthly, quarterly or annual basis.
