The Senate President, Senator David Mark, is set to lead top West African golfers to the grand finale of the Glo Golf Tour, West Africa, 2012 holding from Thursday December 6, to Sunday December 9, 2012 at the Oturkpo Golf and Country Club, Benue State.

The Senate President who is a keen golfer is billed to wear several caps at the grand finale. After teeing off the event, he will join high profile players in the invitational amateur game on Saturday December 8, while at the same time serve as the chief host to all.

Ahead of the Oturkpo event, the Senate President has challenged both pros and amateurs to strive to improve their scores, hoping that this tournament will improve the ranking of West Africa’s golfers on the international circuit.

Globacom has set a new standard for the game in West Africa, having raised the prize bar for pros and creating multiple opportunities for category one amateurs and other amateurs.

Apart from the N62.5 Pro-Am purse, the highest in Africa, Globacom also offered a Toyota Corolla prize for anyone who played a-hole-in-one in the Tour and another N1m gift for a lucky veteran through a raffle draw.

The Oturkpo grand finale is the climax of four weeks of keen competition among West Africa’s best pro golfers including Ghana’s Number one, Emos Korblah, Cameroun’s number one Ebela Desire and great Nigerian players like Andrew Oche Odoh, Martin Odoh, Edet Umoh, Gbenga Oyebanji, Gift Willie, Ayuba Musa and others.

It has also been a meeting point for top amateurs drawn from major golf clubs across the country as well as from Globacom’s subscriber base.
