Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Lamido Sanusi
The Senate Tuesday vowed not to soft-pedal in its bid to expose what it called “the excesses of the executive arm” in the management of the nation’s resources.
The insistence by the senate followed last weekend’s call by Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Lamido Sanusi, that the National Assembly should put a hold on its numerous investigations following the controversy generated by the ongoing House of Representatives’ probe of the activities of the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In his reaction to the accusation and counter-accusation of corrupt enrichment between the House of Representatives Committee investigating the activities of SEC and the Director General of the Commission, Sanusi had told the National Assembly to face its functions of making laws for the country and take off its searchlights on government agencies.
