An Islamic sect, Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis Sudan (JAMUSBIS), Helpers of Muslims in Africa, that emerged five months ago has claimed responsibility for the Monday night attack on the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) at Garki in Abuja.
The group, which emerged in June and headed by one Abu Usamatul Ansar, pledged to defend the interest of Islam and Muslims in Africa. Its statement came just when the dreaded Boko Haram group, for the second time in a couple of weeks, offered to hold dialogue with the federal government on ways to overcome the current spate of violence in the country.
The federal government is yet to offer any statement regarding the new offer by the Boko Haram group but a couple of days ago President Goodluck Jonathan had foreclosed any chance of his government discussing with the group. The president made his view known during a recent media chat.
