Senator Bukola Saraki

Immediate past governor of Kwara State and Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Bukola Saraki, Monday joined other well meaning  Nigerians to congratulate the governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, on his re-election for second term in office.

Saraki, who is also the chairman, Senate Committee on Ecology and Environment in a statement issued in Ilorin yesterday, said there was no doubt that  the victory was for the lovers of democracy in the country.

“It is indeed a victory for all lovers of true democracy and indeed the good people of Ondo State. This is a litmus test for our nascent democracy. Nigerians are showing we are coming of age and the stage is gradually looking brighter for future elections,” Saraki stated.

The statement stressed that, “Dr. Olusegun Mimiko’s first term in office has attested to by the good people of Ondo State has earned him a well deserved victory.”

According to him, “this is indeed a lesson and reminder to all political office holders to work in accordance with people-oriented programs at the grass-root levels to bring about the much desired catalyst for social and economic development.”
