Mitt Romney told reporters on Thursday that he wasn't planning on watching President Barack Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention. But that didn't stop his campaign manager from rendering a judgment on Obama's remarks, reports The Ticket.

In a statement issued well before Obama had finished speaking, Romney campaign manager Matt Rhoades echoed the statement his boss made to reporters earlier, calling out Obama for not delivering on the promises he made four years ago.

"Tonight President Obama laid out the choice in this election, making the case for more of the same policies that haven't worked for the past four years. He offered more promises, but he hasn't kept the promises he made four years ago," Rhoades said. "Americans will hold President Obama accountable for his record. They know they're not better off and that it's time to change direction."

Romney, said Rhodes, "will restore America's promise and deliver a better future for our country."

It's likely Romney will offer his own response to Obama's remarks on Friday, as he returns to the campaign trail with scheduled rallies in Iowa and New Hampshire, where Obama will travel after the convention to campaign as well.
