Arjen Robben has penned a new deal that will keep him at Bayern till 2015

Bayern Munich has announced that Arjen Robben has signed a new contract with the club that will keep him at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2015.

The Netherlands international's previous deal had been due to expire in June 2013 and the winger has been linked with a number of top European clubs in recent months, reports

However, while there was talk earlier this week that the negotiations over a new contract had stalled, Robben has now committed himself to the Bavarian giants for a further two years.

"I've always said that I am happy in Munich with FC Bayern," the Dutchman told the club's official website. "For this reason, I liked the idea of extending my contract early. Bayern is like a family for me. Two of my three children were born in Munich and my family and I feel at home here.

"Also, in a sporting sense, this extension is the right decision for me. We have a great team and I am sure that we will enjoy further success together in the coming years."

Unsurprisingly, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was both thrilled and relieved that the much-coveted Robben had decided to commit his future to the Bundesliga outfit.

"We are very happy to have extended Arjen Robben's contract until 2015," the former West Germany international stated.

"Arjen is very important for Bayern and he guarantees a successful future for the club."

Robben, who scored a crucial penalty in the Bavarians' Champions League semi-final win over Real Madrid, joined Bayern from Los Blancos in 2009.
