Pepsi Revels in Support for Eagles

Pepsi, official beverage sponsors of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) is glad to have   supported the Super Eagles with the campaign: Our Nation Our Pride.
Aside from communications across all media, Pepsi organised an AFCON 5-a-Side football competition in several Nigerian universities to shore up support for the Super Eagles and create fun and excitement for the students who went home with fantastic prizes including cash rewards.

For coming to cheer their teams drawn from different faculties, many students went home with different Pepsi gift items such as football and sports bottle while the teams won medals, trophies and cash awards.

At Ijora, Lagos head office of Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc- it was a festival of sort as the Chairman of the company, Mr. Faysal El-Khalil and Managing Director, Sunil Sawhney, led all staff to sign different goodwill messages on a giant Pepsi greeting card for the Stephen Keshi tutored boys. Some of the messages read: “We love you all,” Go for goals Eagles,”  “Bring the cup home.”

An elated Sawhney said “we are proud of the Super Eagles performance as they exemplified the ‘can do spirit’ of the average Nigerian.”

“With two former Pepsi Football Academy students: John Mikel Obi and Elderson  Echiejile and Pepsi football ambassador, Victor Moses mesmerising their opponents with great football skills along with their colleagues, it was no surprise that Nigeria performed excellently at the AFCON in South Africa. Well done Super Eagles…Our Nation Our Pride,” observed the Pepsi chief.

Stanbic IBTC Commends Nigeria

Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, and its parent company Standard Bank Group, an official sponsor of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations, South Africa 2013, have commended the performance of the Super Eagles at the just ended tournament.

TomTom Splashes $22,500 on Moses, Eagles

The Official Candy of the Nigerian national football teams, TomTom, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria for bringing soothing relief to millions of soccer loving Nigerians by lifting the prestigious Africa Cup of Nations which had eluded the country for almost two decades.

Corporate Affairs Manager, Cadbury West Africa, Kufre Ekanem, in a statement shortly after the final match, commended the Super Eagles for soaring above the Stallions of Burkina Faso to become the African champions, stressing that their tenacity, fighting spirit and the determination to succeed handed them victory.

He announced that in keeping with promise made by the brand, Victor Moses who won the Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) of the tournament in the Nigerian team would be rewarded with $10,000 for his excellent performance throughout the tournament. He also explained that the team would receive $500 for each shot on target recorded during the tournament. The Super Eagles accumulated 25 shots on target and would be rewarded with $12,500 for the 25 shots on target recorded during the tournament.

Senator Abe Plans Reception for Yobo

Senator Magnus Abe representing Rivers South-East in the National Assembly has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Eagles for lifting the African Nations Cup after 19 years. He also praised the team’s Captain, Joseph Yobo, for leading the country to its third Nations Cup trophy.

Senator Abe said he was elated to see an Ogoni son lift the prestigious African version of the World Cup during his tenure as the senator representing Joseph Yobo.

“I am proud to see an Ogoni son who by the grace of God is my constituent, lift the African Cup of Nations in my time as a senator representing him”.
