President Goodluck Jonathan

A presidential probe of the current leadership of the Niger Delta Developmet Commission (NDDC) may soon be under way as President Goodluck Jonathan, who Tuesday received ten reports from a Presidential NDDC Projects Monitoring Committee, which returned a verdict of shady deals and abysmal performance by the interventionist body since 2004.
President Jonathan, who received the report of the committee headed by Chief Isaac Jemide, indicated that the federal government will investigate issues raised by the committee regarding abandoning of projects and variation of contracts without adherence to due process.
Observing that the NDDC was established to check militancy through articulate regional development modules, the president said if it is not seen as doing that by prudently managing resources, then "we have issues at the NDDC."
