NGF Chairman, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State

In the wake of the elections of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) in which the incumbent chairman, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State floored his challenger, Jonah Jang of Plateau, the presidency Saturday distanced itself from insinuations that the latter was anointed by President Goodluck Jonathan.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati expressed displeasure by the media portrait of his principal as the main actor and 'loser' of the election.
Abati observed that it is incorrect to infer that the president, who is currently in Addis Ababa for the African Union Summit, would have been a party to who claims the seat of the NGF leadership.
