The Benue State Police command has disclosed that it would tighten security around the state over the discovery of a hideout of a wanted Boko Haram leader by security operatives in Gboko last weekend.
The suspect, simply known as Jalingo, was said to have escaped during the raid while his rented apartment in Gboko South was demolished.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ezeala, who confirmed the incident in a telephone chat with newsmen said the state Police Commissioner, Christopher Katso, has charged DPOs in the state to ensure adequate security in their domain.
Ezeala urged Benue people especially Gboko residents to go about their businesses assuring them that the command was alive to its responsibility of securing their lives and property.
Recalled that Benue State Government recently raised an alarm over possible threat by sect on the state.
