The Kaduna State Police Command Wednesday paraded 30 armed robbery suspects, including two suspected members of the Boko Haram sect.

Spokesman of the command, Mr. Aminu Lawan, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), who paraded the suspects before journalists in Kaduna, said the command was making tremendous progress in routing robbers, terrorists and other criminals in the state.
Several guns, dynamites, ammunition, chemicals, tools and devices used in making hand bombs were also recovered from the suspects.

Lawan disclosed that “very plentiful” Boko Haram men had been arrested in the two cities of Kaduna and Zaria, during a joint operation by the police, the military and the State Security Service (SSS) which recently raided the hideout of some members of the Boko Haram.

The police spokesman, who said the joint operation was still in progress, however confirmed the killing of a police Corporal in Zaria Wednesday by three men, said to be riding on a motorbike.

“You would never have though that we could make such progress before now. From last Sunday, a combined team of the military, the Police and State Security Service (SSS) have been launching several raids on the hideouts of Boko Haram in Zaria and we have made so many arrests.

“The quality of intelligence we getting as we make more arrest is giving us hope that we will clean their presence in Kaduna State. As I speak to you, we are still pursuing and nabbing them.

“This morning, around 7:30am, at Kwangila Quarters of Zaria, a Mobile Police Corporal, who was on his way to his duty post was shot to death by three men riding a motor bike. The men escaped, but I have information that our operatives are zeroing on them now and they would be arrested very soon. We are making progress against Boko Haram and all kinds of criminals in the state,” Lawan said.
