Seriki Adinoyi in Jos
Newly retired Police Commissioner of Plateau State, Emmanuel Diipo Ayeni has criticised the retirement of 13 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGP).
He said the retirement of 13 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police at the prime of their career without committing any offense known to law is questionable.
Ayeni, who noted this during his pull out parade in Jos, after thirty two years of service in the Nigerian Police Force said “the President of the of Nigeria should have intervened when officers who have served their father’s land with patriotism and dedication were been retired by the Police Service Commission and its cohorts.
He lamented the improper implementation of the White Paper on various committees' reports on police reform, saying “the known criteria for promotion in Nigeria, particularly seniority and merit had been consigned to the dustbin of history”
