Late Senator Gyang Dantong

As emotions continue to pour out after Wednesday's valedictory session for Late Senator Gyang Dantong at the National Assembly, Abuja, the Plateau State Government has gone further to disclose arrangements for the state funeral rites of the Senator and the late Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Gyang Fulani.
Both lawmakers were killed when they went for the mass burial of the victims of terrorists’ attacks on about six villages in the state recently.
State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Yiljap Abraham at a Press Conference in Jos Thursday said that Governor Jonah Jang has approved the setting up of two committees, one for each of the lawmakers to plan and carry out the state burial, which holds on Monday and Tuesday next week.
He said, however, that a valedictory session for Fulani will hold Friday at the state House of Assembly and there after, final internment at his Rayfield residence on Monday, while Dantong will be buried at his family burial ground the following day (Tuesday).
Yiljap, while appreciating the citizens of the state, the entire nation and indeed the international community for the condolence messages to the families of the deceased and the state government, said that "the state government has taken cognisance of the peculiarity of the prevailing times and has sought, together with relevant government agencies to exercise due care and to respect the wishes of the two families.
He also said adequate measures are being put in place to ensure that there was no outbreak of law and order on the day of the burials.
