The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Monday commended President Goodluck Jonathan response to questioned fielded during the Presidential Media Chat, stating that his responses had helped to stabilised the Nigerian economy.

This came as the party raised the alarm over what it described as a campaign of calumny and deceit by the opposition political parties, explaining that huge amount of money had been budgeted to discredit the party and Jonathan’s administration.

Commenting in the party’s reaction on the Presidential Media Chat, the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Olisa Methu said, “the response of the President to questions put to him was mature and direct answers to the questions. By his action and responses, he has stabilised the economy. We know what is happening in Spain and Greece and other European countries.

“The President has stabilised the economy as against the down turn position of what is happening in Europe. No bank has collapsed. We are happy with the vision and programmes of the President. His humility is unparalled in the world”, he said, adding that further reactions should be directed to the media managers of the President.

Metuh also alleged that the ACN and CPC were engaging in a campaign of deceit and blackmail against the President and the PDP, stating that, “huge amount of money has been budgeted for this campaign of hatred and falsehood against the PDP and President Jonathan.”
