Suspected killers of Principal Private Secretary to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Olaitan Oyerinde being charged for murder in Benin, Friday

The Police investigation into the murder of Olaitan Oyerinde, Principal Private Secretary to Governor Adams Oshiomhole took a new twist Friday in Benin City as suspects in the murder were formally arraigned before an Oredo Magistrate Court on eight count charge.
Those arraigned before Magistrate Francis Idiake were Garba Usman Maisamari [39], Danjuma Musa [23], Muritala Usman [27], Moses Asamah Okoro [32], Auta Umaru Ali [26], Wilfred Iserhienhi [30], Hassan Aliyu Babete [44], Umaru Adamu [33], Idris Abdulhamidi [24] and a Benin based human rights activist, David Ugolor [42] allegedly fingered by one of the suspects as the one that offered them N20 million for the murder of Oyerinde.
Count one read by the Police Prosecutor, Mr. David Abuo accused Garba Usman Maisamari,’ m’ 39, Danjuma Musa, ‘m’ 23, Muritala Usman,m’ 27, Moses Asamah Okoro,’m’ 32,Auta Umaru Ali ‘m’ 26, Umaru Adamu alias Duna ‘m’ 33 and Rev. David Ugolor ‘m’ 42 and others now at large, of conspiracy and committing armed robbery on May 2012, at about 01.00am at No 65, 2nd Ugbor Road, GRA Benin-City in Oredo Magisterial District and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 6 (b) and punishable under Section 1 (2)(a) and (b) of the Armed Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, CAP R 11 Laws of the Federal of Nigeria, 2004.
Garba Usman Maisamari, Danjuma Musa, Muritala Usman, Moses Asamah Okoro, Auta Umaru Ali, Umaru Adamu alias Duna, Rev. David Ugolor and others now at large were on the second count accused of committing felony to wit murder of Oyerinde which fouls Section 324 of the Criminal Code Act CAP C.38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and Section 319 of the Criminal Code Act CAP C.38 Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Another count read out to them said, “That you, Garba Usaman Maisamari, Danjuma Musa, Muritala Usman, Moses Asamah Okoro, Auta Umaru Ali, Umaru Adamu alias Duna, Rev. David Ugolor and others now at large, on the same date, time and place and in the Magisterial District aforesaid with intent to steal and while armed with three locally made pistols, did rob one Olaitan Oyerinde ‘m’ now deceased of the following items (a) Five blackberry telephone handsets (b) one Nokia telephone handset with touch (c) one English made single barrel gun valued yet unknown and some unspecified amount of property of one Olaitan Oyerinde (deceased) and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 1 (2)(a) and (b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act CAP R II”
