Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, is expected to flag off the maiden Igue Festival Marathon Saturday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

Apart from the flagging off, Oshiomhole, is expected to also participate in the race along with some of his aides to celebrate with the Binis on the occasion of the yearly cultural festival.

The marathoners are expected to run from the the Stadium  Road flag off through Ekenwan Road, and the Ring Road before ending the race at the Oba’s Palace.

Organisers revealed that arrangements were in place to ensure the safety of the road runners as officers and men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Police and other security agencies have been detailed to man the affected routes of the race.

Participants are expected to get souvenirs, ranging from t-shirts, caps, biros to bags.

The organisers further explained that the race is open to able bodied men and women.
