Olam Nigeria Limited, producers of Mama Gold rice, has rewarded its outstanding customers   with brand new exotic cars for their performances this year, with a promise to sustain the gesture in the years to come.

Other customers who did not qualify for the car gifts went away with various valuable gifts such as DSTV walkers, refrigerators, air-conditioners, washing machines, LCD televisions and micro-wave ovens.

Explaining the rationale behind the gesture at the customers end-of-year party hosted by Olam Nigeria Limited, the company’s Managing Director, Rice, Mr. Anil Nair, said it was based on the company’s policy of setting the standard for rewarding customer loyalty.

“We believe in celebrating the mutually beneficial relationship which exists between us and our customers and also to let them know that they are valued and respected,” he said.
A total of five exotic KIA cars were given out to customers in the Super-Eagle rice AWUF Promo which started in April this year.

Expressing delight at winning one of the KIA Sportage car gifts, Mrs. Bolanle Adereti said that the company has proven that they do not make empty promises but fulfil all that they promised at rewarding their customers, describing them as a company that does not compromise on quality of their products and the value of their customers.

The Chairperson at the occasion, Mrs. Esther Akinsanya, prayed that Olam will continue to come out with more innovative ideas that will sustain them in their leading market position in Nigeria.
“Olam has proven that they are a company that understands what consumers want and through their innovative ideas they have been able to endear their products to consumers while making it possible for their customers to sell more,” she said.

She noted that the company’s creativity in branding has made their rice such as Mama Gold and Super Eagle popular best sellers in the market today where the demand of the product has been on the high side in the market.

She also advised them to sustain the quality of their products in order not to lose the confidence and reputation which they have been able to establish with their customers and consumers over the years.
The Managing Director, Rice, assured the customers that Olam would continue to use its expertise in rice production to maintain the standard of their products and the availability in the market.

He disclosed that presently the company has the largest rice farm in Africa and a milling plant in Nigeria which has also contributed in generating employment opportunities for farmers and traders.
He said that the company has re-cultivated over 1,000 hectares after the recent flooding which ravaged parts of the country, and. The feat places the company in a comfortable position to continue to play her strategic part in Nigeria food security programme.

No less than 40 houses were affected by the floods when the Tunga River overflowed its banks in Tunga village in Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The river, a route from Lake Chad to River Benue, flowing through Kogi and Cameroun, overflowed its bank and wrecked serious havoc in the village.

The company said it has invested strategically in the Nigerian agriculture sector, and would continue to do so in the future, as a way of underscoring its belief in the potential of the economy and faith in the Nigerian people.
Olam, as a strategic player in the food business in Nigeria is also involved in backward integration, and its rice brands include Mama Gold, Mama Africa and Mama Americano.

Nair attributed the company’s success story to its vision, buoyed by the hard work of its rice Sales and Marketing Team. He described the Nigerian rice market challenging enough to bring out the best in any sales team, saying Olam was determined to continue to play its part in ensuring rice availability in the country at competitive prices.
“We also appreciate our Nigerian customers for sticking with us. The unalloyed patronage gives us the courage to consistently try to satisfy them.

He said the company as a group has been investing heavily to ensure that its Nigerian operations deliver the best to customers particularly and the Nigerian society generally.
