Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has assured of a befitting burial for the late Biafran leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, who will be buried on March 2.
Orji who stated this at Zungeru in Niger State, at the commencement of the burial rites for Ojukwu, declared that South-east governors have designed wonderful programmes to celebrate the exit of this great legend of all times.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ugochukwu Emezue, Orji maintained that all the funds the Abia Local Organising Committee (LOC) needs to ensure the smooth passage of the late hero have been released.
The governor hinted that Enyimba Stadium where Ojukwu will lie in state on February 28 is wearing a new look. According to him security has also been put in place for the Aba event.
Paying tribute to late Ikemba, Orji delared that Ndigbo have lost a rare gem, a fighter, colossus, and a hero . He urged all to emulate Ojukwu’s virtues.
