The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Joseph Ezeoba has said that the state insecurity championed by increasing illegalities and oil theft in the Niger Delta region is as a result of  poverty, high cost and chronic scarcity of refined petroleum products.

Ezeoba disclosed this Thursday in Abuja at meeting of stakeholders in the oil and gas sector aimed at seeking ways of reducing incidences of crude oil theft and other associated crimes in the Nigerian maritime sector.
