Warri Wolves welcome Bernard Ogbeide back
The immediate past Head Coach of Akwa United FC of Uyo, Bernard Ogbeide, has confirmed his appointment as the new coach of Warri Wolves FC of Delta State.
Ogbeide disclosed this in an interview with NAN in Lagos Monday.
The coach said that the contract would run for one year, subject to a renewal by both parties.
“Usually, I sign a one year contract and that has been my style for long,’’ he said.
NAN reports that the post of the head coach of the Warri based side became vacant after the dissolution of the board on September 23.
The dissolution led to the disengagement of Edema Fuludu as the club’s head coach, which eventually paved the way for Ogbeide to return to his former post.
“It's official today, I have signed a one year contract with Warri Wolves. I know there are lots of expectations from fans, but with dedication, we will surpass our predecessors.
“We won’t be in haste about recruitment or disengagement of players; we will make sure that we carefully understand these players and psyche them up accordingly.
“By so doing, we will get the best out of them with the support of the club’s management,’’ Ogbeide said.
Asked what he intended to do to reposition the team for the challenges of the 2012/2013 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season, he said that he would plan accordingly.
“Let's see what I have inherited, I don’t want to make any promises,’’ he said.
NAN reports that Wolves were in the 15th position with 48 points from 36 matches last season, a performance that did not please the Delta State Government, owners of the club.
