Oche Odoh pocketed N1 million after rousing a 4-under par 68 on the second day of the ULO Consultants Pro Am Tournament in Abuja.

The sum of N10million is to be scrambled by the field but the jackpot is only a reward to any of the professional players, who responds to the challenge of the sponsor, Uche Okpuno, by signing for a score of, or better than 68 in the four- day tournament.
Odoh, who is ranked No 3 on the Nigerian official tour, seized the initiative when he drained a 15-foot long putt for a bogey on the last hole on Friday evening.

His second round performance was a mix of five birdies and one bogey and an improvement on his opening score of 75.

Four other players - Chidi Tobias, Mohammed Liman, Ayuba Musa, Simon Peter and Ghanaian Vincent Torgah -aimed to hit their own gold mine, but rued their luck as they closed at 3 under par 69.

Tobias failed to put his game together when it mattered after he three putted the 17th, and failed to put his birdie putt into the cup on the last hole.

Saturday was the moving day and again, it was Odoh, who kept his focus when he held on to a one shot lead over the field after breaking par for a 70.

The Ghanaian, Emos Korblah is one shot off the pace after playing 70.

Odoh hit seven fairways in regulation on a rain softened IBB International Golf and Country Club course.

He sank four birdies and two bogies. Three of his birdies came on the back, including the two par fives at holes 11 and 16. But again he dropped shots at the No 9 for the successive days.
