The National Sports Commission (NSC) Monday announced the time schedule for elections into the boards of the various non-concessioned sporting federations.
The elections shall commence with Zonal Elections this month and round off with the national elections in May 2013.

According to Special Assistant (Media) to the Sports Minister, Julius Ogunro, the elections for the positions of President and Vice President of the various sporting Federations shall take place in Abuja on May 14.

“The swearing-in ceremony would take place on May 17, 2013 after all appeals or petitions arising from the elections would have been dealt with.

“The NSC wishes to assure all stakeholders that it has put in place systems to ensure fair and credible elections at both the zonal and national levels,” observed the SA to the minister.

He urged interested stakeholders who wish to participate in the elections to consult the published guidelines for information regarding eligibility and modalities for the conduct of the elections.
