The Managing Director, Nigeria Railway Corporation, Prince Adeseyi Sijuade, has said that the corporation is ready to introduce an air- conditioned train come next year.
“By 2013 we plan to introduce the new modern air-conditioned coaches on the track and there would be no cause for alarm in terms of security as the corporation would ensure safety of lives and properties of customers.”
Speaking with reporters over the weekend during the flag-off of inter-city passengers service from Lagos –Kano, Sijuade commended President Goodluck Jonathan for the achievement, saying that he always give accelerated approvals to request from Nigeria Railway corporation.
He revealed that a sum of N24.3 billion was spent to rehabilitate Nigeria Railway track from Lagos –Kano.
