Warri Wolves are now within striking distance of Nigeria Premier League leaders Dolphin after a 1-0 home win over Ocean Boys in rescheduled match midweek.

The victory on Wednesday at the Warri City Stadium has catapulted Wolves from seventh to second spot as they have now recorded 17 points from nine matches.

Sunshine Stars, Kwara United and Gombe United are all on 16 points.

The Wolves match winner was Efe Yarhere in the 65th minute as he capitalised on a fumble by Ocean Boys goalkeeper Femi Thomas to make hay.

It was an explosive match with fair officiating.

Shooting Stars of Ibadan will host Sharks of Port Harcourt in Abeokuta in another rescheduled NPL fixture later Thursday.

Shooting Stars are 14th in the standings with 10 points, while Sharks occupy the sixth position with 15 points.
