Traditional rulers in the North met behind closed door in Kaduna Tuesday over the Boko Haram insurgency ravaging the region and the death sentence passed on Hamza Al-Mustapha, the former Chief Security Officer of the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha.
The meeting which was held under tight security at the Lugard Hall (Kaduna State House of Assembly) was presided over by the Sultan of Sokoto,  Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar lll.

Unlike their previous meetings which were always preceded by an opening ceremony, attended by the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF), Tueday’s meeting was devoid of such ceremony with none of the 19 northern governors in attendance.
Journalists were barred from the meeting, but sources disclosed that the main agenda of the meeting which lasted for more than five hours was the frightening activities of Boko Haram and the death sentence passed on Al-Mustpha for the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola by the court.
