Following the recent self indictment by the Sultan of Sokoto HRH Sa'ad Abubakar  III that the North was responsible for its plights, another youth group under the aegis of Northern Youth Alert (NYA) has accused the Northern Governors of insincerity in solving the problems of the region.

According to the spokesman of the group Abdullahi Isah Abubakar who spoke with Journalists in Minna yesterday, the Northern Governors know the steps to take towards solving the problems of the region but are paying little or no attention to them.

He added that they are looking for big solutions while they could start by resuscitating the New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC) which could provide employment for thousands of youths and that alone can reduce the problem of insecurity in the region.

According to Abubakar, the NNDC which was one of the legacies Sardauna left for the north with six subsidiaries has gone moribund while its capital is being spent and some of its landed properties being sold.

He said despite that the Northern State Governors Forum (NSGF) set up a committee in 2009 to look into the problems of the NNDC and proffer solutions on the way forward, after the white paper was submitted in May 2009, no actions have been taken by the leadership of the NNDC despite the approval of the NSGF and the forum has been silence on the leadership.
