Selim Nurudeen crashed out of the 110m hurdles after placing fifth in his heat

Nigeria's woes at the London 2012 Olympics continued Wednesday evening when another Team Nigeria athlete flattered to deceive.

Selim Nurudeen was the latest flop when he he could only manage a fifth placed finish in the 110m hurdles to fail to progress to the final.

Running in lane five of semi-final Heat 2, the Nigerian could only manage 13.55s in the race won by favourite Aries Meritt of the US in 12.94s.

Nurudeen's time put him 18th of the 23 that actually ran in the three semi-final heats.  Meritt had the fastest time of the qualifiers.
