THE National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is putting structures in place to enhance its capacity to confront future disaster situations more efficiently. as its handling of the last disaster situation was fraught with lapses

Mr Ishaya  Isah  Chonoko, the NEMA Operations coordinator in charge of Kogi, Kwara,  Niger and the FCT, said that the agency is engaging in serious synergy with stakeholders in disaster management in the country  to enhance its operational capacities, so as to erase some of the lapses observed during the last flood disaster.

He stated that the Agency was embarking on educating and sensitizing the public on some of the key issues during disasters situation, so that precautionary steps could be taken.
