Mr. Ben Langat
The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Ben Langat as its new Managing Director. He succeeds Mr. Segun Ogunsanya who will be taking up a new role outside the company.
In a statement signed by the company’s Head, Public Affairs and Communications, Mrs. Adeyanju Olomola, Langat, who previously held the role of the director of finance for the company, assumed the leadership role at NBC, effective November 1st.
Langat joined NBC as director of finance in June 2009 from Unilever and over time established himself as a strong leader for his values, integrity, business acumen and leadership.
A Kenyan citizen, Langat holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Nairobi, and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya CPA (K). He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
Meanwhile, the company has given 30 young Nigerians the opportunity of pursuing their dream career with it. The 30, who are part of the company’s 2012 Management Trainee programme, officially resumed last Monday.
Olomola explained that the Management Trainee programme was a major part of NBC’s commitment to the economic and social development of the communities it operates in, adding that given the population of young people in Nigeria, NBC considered it strategic to invest in the development of this population for the benefit of the country.
The Management Trainee programme, which was initiated in 2001, was designed to provide an avenue through which exceptionally talented young graduates can receive, first-hand, the skills, knowledge and tools necessary to build world-class career.
