Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero

A Long motorcade of security patrol vehicles of a combined team of heavily armed police and army personnel on Friday stationed in all the roads leading to the Eid El Kabir ground in the state.
It was also observed that Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) were deployed to the Eid prayer ground to guarantee security at the venue of the prayer.
The state Deputy Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and other top government officials attended the Eid prayer at Kofar Mata in the metropolis.
In his Sallah message, the Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero charged leaders and the entire Muslims in the country to continue with prayer for the sustenance of peace and unity in the country.
Bayero, who spoke at Kofar Kudu under tight security, explained that prayer was the solution to the entire predicament in the society and appealed to leaders and subjects to have good intentions toward one another.
The emir urged the people to continuously pray for peace and advised them to have faith in God, while he commiserated with flood victims, stating that the situation was worrisome. He further advised the farmers to take good care of their farm produce.
Alhaji Bayero also prayed for the successful return of the Nigerian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia after completion of the exercise and called on the people to always live by the dictates of Islam and avoid committing sinful acts that can earn them the wrath of God.
Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Kano, Professor Sani Zahraddeen, prayed for peaceful co-existence among citizens of the country and stressed the importance of peace and how Islam has always emphasized it.
He said there was need for people to continuously pray for the restoration of peace in Kano and the country at large.
