The Commander, 9th brigade, of the Nigerian Army, Brig-Gen Sanusi Muazu has instituted a board of inquiry to investigate the allegations that a soldier killed one Niyi Ehindero also known as Kush.

The said incident happened on Thursday, January 05, 2012, at Bada Street, Mushin area of Lagos State.

The deceased was allegedly felled down by the bullets of some soldiers attached to the Operation Mesa 33 Unit.

Speaking to THISDAY yesterday, the Public Relations Officer of the brigade, Lieutenant Olaniyi Osoba said investigation was ongoing.

According to him, the soldiers who were allegedly involved had been queried and they all debunked the allegations.

He said: "The soldiers said they are not the ones that shot the deceased rather they met the corpse on the street."

It would be recalled that on the fateful day, the soldiers had gone to contain the violence in the area between two warring factions who were battling for supremacy.

The deceased who was caught in the line of fire died in his gray Toyota Highlander Sports Utility Vehicle with registration number plate; Lagos FF605 KRD.
