As part of efforts aimed at building better relationship with its customers and to compensate them for their loyalty, MultiChoice Nigeria, a leading pay TV company in the country, has rewarded its distributors across the country for their support in 2012.

At the event, which took place in Lagos, the Managing Director of the company, Mr. John Ugbe, commended the trade partners and assured them of better dealings and improved service for viewers. He said their support has helped Multichoice to grow DSTV subscribers’ base, thereby helping it to take services to the homes of Nigerians.

Ugbe, who attributed the success of the brand to the entrepreneurial spirit of distributors, added that his company would never let them down.
The dealers were especially lauded for the role they have played in growing their franchises into big businesses, employment of thousands of people and provision of many Nigerians their source of livelihood.
“Even in difficult and challenging conditions as we have seen in some parts of the country, dealers ensured that our products were made available to subscribers, complaints were treated with dispatch, and the business continues to grow,” Ugbe said.

Earlier, the dealers had visited and made donations to a hospice as well as a home for the blind in Lagos, with contributions which they pooled together with support from MultiChoice.

Giving the philosophy behind the scheme, he said; “Tonight represents what MultiChoice Nigeria is all about. Look around you and you will see that our company is a truly Nigerian company. We started this journey a few years ago with only five dealers; now we have 54 dealers, who have in turn opened offices in different locations across the country, providing jobs and experience to thousands of young Nigerians. For us at MultiChoice that is a tradition that we must abide with,”

Among the super dealers, who were celebrated on the occasion was Radac Communications System that won the award for the “Highest Sales Nationwide in 2012”, and went home with a brand new Hilux mini truck and a luxury trip abroad for two to three European Countries and cash prize.

Singled out for special recognition was Geetee which got the “Highest Sales in the North East” and was especially praised by Mr. Ugbe for continuing to serve subscribers despite the challenges in that region. “It was important to recognise the dealer with the highest sales in the North East region; praise also goes to all our dealers in that region who face challenges on a daily basis in taking DStv services to different homes,” he said.
