Lagos Linetrale Trafigura with the Majekodunmi Cup

Lagos Linetrale Trafigura was the toast of Lagos polo fans as the team
ran home with the highly coveted MTN-sponsored Majekodunmi Cup and the
Independence Cup.
In the star match of the day, the hard fighting Fifth Chukker led by
Adamu Atta lost 9-13 to the highly determined Lagos Linetrale
Trafigura to pick up the highly coveted trophy.
Kaduna Fifth Chukker could not re-enact the form that saw them triumph
over Lagos MRS in the group game.
The Lagos Linetrale Trafigura team which also went home with the
Independence Cup, paraded such stars as: Mustapha Fasinro, Damian
Duncan, Frankic Menendez and Marcelo Pascal.
Speaking during the post match interview the team captain, Mustapha
Fasinro commended the opposition and tagged the finals as the best he
has ever taken part in.
“This is a trophy we have always longed for and winning it today is a
moment I will always cherish for years to come,” said a highly elated
Fasinro.
For the Lagos Open Cup, the titanic battle between Lagos Tavia Trojan
and Kano Titans ended with the later losing by 81/2-10. The Lagos
Tavia team include had the likes of Ayo Olashoju, Jorge Ceinedes,
Martin Tassara and the captain, Kunle Tinubu.
